Dear Reader: Full figured red head seeks companionship for quiet evenings in front of the fire. I promise that those long stressful days at work will fly by when you can spend them knowing that I am waiting to welcome you home with a kiss and a snuggle. I look forward to those lazy Sunday mornings when we can sleep late and I can start my day with a soothing belly rub. In return for being allowed to share your home I will guarantee you a lifetime of love and friendship. Turn ons include playing fetch, squeaky toys and a good back scratching. Turn offs are an empty food bowl, cats and people who judge me by my appearance. I hope you'll be that special someone I've been waiting for.  Much Love,  Cecelia

CeCe Before HHPBR

HPBR Comments: Cecelia came to our attention when a local Animal Control Officer called us to say she had seized an emaciated pit bull that she would like us to evaluate. We arrived at the shelter to meet her and found a very skinny but very happy Cecelia. Clearly she was thrilled to be out of the filthy dark garage where she was found and out into the fresh air and sunshine.

After a wait of several weeks at the shelter while her abuser's case was pending prosecution, Cecelia came to HHPBR for some well-deserved TLC. Her weight issues were easy enough to resolve – worming to remove internal parasites and regular feeding were all that was needed to change her from a walking anatomy specimen into the well-padded girl she is today. Heartworm treatment and a creative bandaging routine for a bad case of happy tail have resolved the remainder of her health issues.

It has been a real treat to watch Cecelia's personality and zest for life blossom now that she's physically fit again. From playing a game of fetch to snuggles in front of the TV, this dog seems to enjoy savoring every moment of the day as if to make up for all the things she has missed. It did take her some time to understand what toys were but now she has mastered that skill and every evening we are greeted by a goofy red dog carrying a big stuffed crab!

If you are looking for a ready made companion then this is the girl for you! Cecelia is fully house broken, crate trained and is well past the age where your table legs seem like appropriate chew toys. She loves to ride in the car and will calmly sit watching out the window while the miles roll by, making her a first-rate traveling companion. Cecelia's house manners are beyond excellent and other than the occasional silly outburst we find her to be a relaxed girl who would be equally at home lying quietly at your feet or following you on a long hike.

Cecelia would prefer to be the only 4-legged goddess in your house so we will not place her in a home with other dogs. Additionally, although Cecelia has shown us that she loves everyone equally we doubt that life on the end of a chain gave her much of a chance for exposure to small children and therefore we will not place in a home with children under the age of 12.

Cecelia has spent her whole short life taking care of others – namely litter after litter of puppies for the backyard breeder who owned her. Now she needs someone willing to take care of her. Do you have room in your heart for this deserving girl?
